In case you missed it, Love and Hip Hop Atlanta alumni K. Michelle has sworn off black men in favor of a handsome caucasian men on where else, but social media, Instagram to be exact. Why do people share their life epiphanies or anything about what’s going on with them personally on social media, is besides me, but anywhoo…mj_black_or_white_by_krkdesigns

I’m not sure what her reasoning is for swearing off black men are, but I’m sure whatever they are, they make sense to her. What I don’t understand is how someone can think that a person of another race will treat them better than their own race? I understand that she may be tired of dating “sorry” or “no good” men, and if this is the case for her wanting to date white men, that is her prerogative, but she needs to own up to her role (fault) in meeting the same type of men.

Think about it, if you continuously meet the same type of person over and over again, then there is something about you that keeps attracting the type of person you claim not to like. Right?

Just like men or women that are tired of being done wrong by the opposite sex and want to give the same sex a try (which my gay friends hate), they to need to take a look in the mirror and ask, “What is it about me that attracts people that feel that they can walk over me?”

Despite what the reasons are, people who decide to switch races or sexual orientation in the dating game are being delusional if they think that things are going to be better without doing their own introspection. What they fail to realize is this – people are the same no matter the color or sexual preference, just like there are some dog-ish heterosexual men that will do you wrong, there are some dog-ish gay women that will do you wrong, if not worse.
While there is nothing wrong with interracial dating, and we all have our preferences, I question those that purposely choose to favor another race over their own when their reasoning seems to be solely dictated by color. A part of me feels like those that think interracial dating would be better than dating within their own race have a little self hatred.
What do you think? Why do you think people choose to give up dating within their own race in favor of dating another?

Talk to me, I’ll talk back.

  1. I was gonna quote Katt Williams… “Its something about that keep attracting ain’t shit n*”

She needs to look at that because you can fight any man of any race that ain’t shit. Ya know.

But hey maybe she think she will… But what happens when that logic doesn’t work? She will become a lesbian?!
