During the BET Awards taping this weekend, an apparent scuffle broke out between Rick Ross’s camp and Young Jeezy’s camp (big surprise there, rappers beefing) while it was just a shoving match no punches were thrown. See what happens here. These 2 have been throwing verbal jabs which were the only jabs thrown at each other for over a year. The beef started because of the song BMF Blowing Money Fast, which was recorded by Rick Ross.
Young Jeezy who is affiliated with BMF (Black Mafia Family), whose CEO Big Meech is currently serving 30 years FED time for drug trafficking took expectation to the song because “he felt that since Rick Ross wasn’t affiliated with BMF he shouldn’t have recorded a song about BMF”. Now if this isn’t the dumbest reason to have a beef with someone I don’t know what is, the song wasn’t even that great to begin with. Jeezy and Ross are in or approaching their mid-thirties and should know better than to act like Paris Hilton hating on gay sex, both are millionaires with a lot to lose but can’t seem to shake the hood while trying to show how “real” they are.
Both Jeezy and Ross sensationalize the “gangsta lifestyle” while Rick Ross worked has worked as a Correctional Officer in Miami during the 90’s contradicts the image he portrays through is music.
So the question becomes, when are we going to hold our artists accountable for their every action? It’s not enough that most of today’s rapper flood the streets with made up tales of being the next Tony Montana, they can’t even go out in public without acting the damn fool.
So what do you make of this foolishness?
Talk to me, I’ll talk back.
